Approved Alternate Antivirus Products
NC State supports current Trend Micro corporate antivirus products and offers free downloads to students, faculty and staff. Alternatively, there are several University-approved antivirus products, listed in the tables below, that you may purchase and use to comply with the University's Antivirus Software Requirements, provided that you maintain up-to-date virus definitions. There is also a list of antivirus products that are explicitly not approved for use on the campus network.
If the vendor of one of these listed products releases a newer version, it will be considered approved until the next annual review by the University IT Security Subcommittee. If a vendor drops support for a listed product before the next review, it will no longer satisfy the University's requirements and will be removed from the list.
