Updating Virus Definitions for Intego VirusBarrier for Mac OS X

Your copy of Intego VirusBarrier for Mac OS X is initially configured to update itself on a weekly basis.  It will check in with Intego's antivirus parent servers once every 7 days, receiving any new antivirus definitions and product updates that may be available.

If you have a need to manually update your virus definitions, use the procedure documented below:

  1. Be sure that you are an administrator for the computer on which you will be updating. [How can I tell if I'm an administrator?]
  2. Open your Applications folder and double-click on the NetUpdate icon.

  6. You will be asked to authenticate, so the installation can continue.
  7. NetUpdate will download the selected updates and install them on your computer.  Depending on the number of updates to be installed, this process may take several moments to complete.
  8. When the update process is complete, NetUpdate will indicate that the installation was successful.  Press the OK button.
  9. NetUpdate will perform a follow-up update check, to see if there are additional updates to install.  If new updates are available, repeat steps 4 through 9.
  10. Close NetUpdate.
