Your copy of Trend Micro OfficeScan for Microsoft Windows is set to update itself on a daily basis.  It will check in with NCSU's antivirus parent servers once per day, receiving any new antivirus definitions and product updates that may be available.

If you have a need to manually update your virus definitions, use the following procedure:

1. Make sure that you are connected to the Internet.
2. Double-click the blue Trend Micro OfficeScan icon, located in the right-hand portion of your system tray (at the bottom of the screen).
   
3. In the menu that appears, select Update Now.
4. A Trend Micro OfficeScan update window will appear.  Click the Update Now button.
5. Trend Micro OfficeScan will take several moments to prepare itself, and then check in with the update server.  Allow this process to complete itself.
   
6. If the process completes successfully, the window will display "Component update is complete."
7. Press the Close button to finish.
