WWW4 Setup
As part of basic Unity computing account privileges, all NC State students, faculty and staff receive an allocation of personal network (AFS) file space that can be used to publish personal Web pages accessible via www4.ncsu.edu. Once you've finished creating your Web pages, the WWW4 Setup Utility provides a quick and easy way to prepare a place for them online. This tool automatically sets up a www directory in your personal Unity file space and assigns access privileges to it.

Personal Unity File Space
Categories
Your Unity account comes with 350 MB of personal file storage space (disk quota), divided into these three categories:
- AFS space
Your space for personal files and Web pages. When you use a Unity lab machine, this space appears as your Home directory (on a Solaris or Linux machine) or the K: drive (on a Windows machine). The path to this space is in this format:
/afs/unity.ncsu.edu/users/initial/unityid

Andrew File System (AFS)
AFS is a distributed network file system that enables files that are physically stored on many different AFS servers to be accessed as if they were in a single directory (or virtual drive) on a local computer. This allows users from any AFS computer at any remote site (such as a computer lab) to access files in a unified and easily identifiable way.
