Instant Messaging

As the name implies, instant messaging allows for immediate communication between computer users in real time. It is useful for a number of tasks, including:

Deleting Spam-flagged Messages Automatically

CAUTION:This practice is NOT recommended.

No spam filter is completely accurate in identifying spam. Some messages flagged as spam are actually legitimate (false positives), while others that are clearly spam slip through the filter (false negatives). Perhaps the most important fact to remember about any spam filtering program is this: Some messages flagged as spam may be important ones you need to keep. Without actually reading those messages, you won't know for sure.

Updating Your E-mail Address

NC State sends certain information by e-mail only (e.g., information about classes, student accounts, eBILLs, employment, benefits). To avoid missing time-sensitive and other important communications, you will need to make sure that NC State always has your currrent e-mail address.
