Folders

You can organize and manage your messages more efficiently by using folders. This is especially helpful if you have a lot of e-mail.

Folders

Create a folder

  • If the new folder is to be a subfolder, choose the name of its parent folder from the drop-down menu next to the "Create" button. If you do not want it to be a subfolder, select "[none]."
  • Type the name of the new folder into the text box.
  • Select the "Create" button.

Rename a folder

  • From the drop-down menu next to the "Rename" button, select the folder you want to rename. (You cannot rename the "Sent," "Trash," or "Inbox" folders.)
  • Select the "Rename" button.
  • Type the new folder name in the window that appears.
  • Select the "Submit" button.

Delete a folder

  • From the drop-down menu next to the "Delete" button, select the folder you want to remove. (You cannot delete the "Sent," "Trash," or "Inbox" folders.)
  • Select the "Delete" button.
  • Confirm the deletion by selecting the "Yes" button that appears in a new window.

Unsubscribe/Subscribe

To "subscribe" a folder means to register it with the mail server, allowing you to view its name in your list of folders. Each folder you create is automatically subscribed. "Unsubscribing" unregisters the folder, and removes its name from the folder list. It does not delete the folder from your e-mail storage space.

To unsubscribe a folder:

  • In the box on the left (your subscribed folders), choose the folder(s) you wish to unsubscribe. You may choose more than one.
  • Select the "Unsubscribe" button.
  • The folder name(s) will appear in the box on the right.
  • Select your browser's refresh button or the "refresh folder list" link in the left hand frame of the Webmail window to see the change in your folder list.

To subscribe a folder:

  • In the box on the right (your unsubscribed folders), choose the folder(s) you wish to subscribe. You may choose more than one.
  • Select the "Subscribe" button.
  • The folder name(s) will appear in the box on the left.
  • Select your browser's refresh button or the "refresh folder list" link in the left hand frame of the Webmail window to see the change in your folder list.
