Location: Room 130, Park Shops

The Office of Faculty Development invites you to attend a workshop on clicker  (offered face-to-face and online) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13. This will include an opportunity for faculty using clickers to share their insights into successful incorporation of the clicker technology into classes. The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. David McConnell, professor of marine earth and atmospheric sciences.

Workshop Description:
Clickers are incorporated into classes most effectively when they improve the teaching and learning experience for both instructors and students. Participants in this seminar will learn about the testing theory and collaborative learning research that supports the use of a teaching style known as peer instruction that has been demonstrated to improve learning in large general education classes. Instructors participating in the face-to-face presentation will use clickers and experience peer instruction first-hand. Participants will be provided with instructions for incorporating the pedagogy into their lectures, sample questions that represent a range of learning levels, and references for further reading.
