Mediasite
For Mediasite presentations, two issues need to be considered for accessibility: captioning, and media player accessibility.
Captioning for Mediasite
The process for captioning videos in Mediasite is similar to standard captioning procedures. The biggest difference is you will need to contact mediasite-help@ncsu.edu to upload your caption file. Mediasite accepts SAMI caption files.
Mediaplayer Accessibility
Mediasite has two different players that can be used to display your presentation. One is a Silverlight-based player and one is a WMV based player. For many type of disabilities, including anyone who interacts with a computer without a mouse (primarily visual and mobility impairments) they will need to use the WMV based player. If you are unsure which player your class is set up to use, or if you would like to request your class be switched over to the WMV based player, contact mediasite-help@ncsu.edu.
