2) Casper Upgrades and Clean Up- 5 min

The Casper 9.72 update is complete resolving issue delivering Packages with spaces or special characters in the name and several security issues.  There also seems to be additional stability with this release.

Only 3 units have emailed a list of Casper Extension Attributes they want to keep.  OIT is looking at those and working with the USWCA.  We will try to work on package cleanup.   Discussion

3) AutoPKG Packages and Needs  – 5 min.

Requests for packages to be added to the AutoPKGR app pump server.  Also not that we are going to upload all packages to nc.jamfcloud.com under category “aaUNC-System-Test” with the prefix “UNCWide-AutoPKG-“.  The packages will moved to the category “aaUNC-System”.  The process is not yet running and will not be automated at first. Discussion

4) Device Encryption Standard for University – 30 min

The Security governance committee has proposed at CAS to create a University Rule that establishes a security standard for device encryption.  Leo Howell will be at the June 2015 MacPolicy meeting to talk about this.  Currently there is no recommend encryption for OS X and only a recommendation to set a pass code on iOS devices (which turns on whole device encryption).  There will be some kind of both personal and enterprise key escrow which will be discussed in June.  The current thinking is to user FileVault2 for all OS X devices managed using Casper.  Discussion.

5) OIT NetInstall Service Update- 10 min

The OIT net install image nuke.nbi has been updated to format and install OS X 10.10.3 as of 05082015 and the pave.nbi has also been updated to 10.10.3 and Casper Imaging 9.72.  We need testers on the pave.nbi  as I am seeing mixed results (works if existing machine or if has Prestage Image configuration but mixed result if logging in to casper after netboot).  Also note nuke.nbi no longer automatically boots to pave.nbi since some folks want to use DEP.

Discussion.

6) CAS Report- 10 min

In the CAS meeting last week we talked about several things including the proposed printer standard rule.

Discussion.

7)Apple Rumors- 10 min

Bring you favorite  rumors about future Apple hardware and software.  Discussion

8) Q&A   – 10 min
