- Seal all penetrations of fire-rated construction, using the tested UL system applicable for the construction that was penetrated. This includes all floors, corridor walls, and other assemblies required to be sealed against fire/smoke spread.
- If any exceptions to above table are found on-site during construction, contractor shall contact the NC State communication technologies office to determine appropriate firestop system to be used.
- All details are reprinted from the online certifications directory with permission from UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES, INC. All details are copyright 2003 UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES, INC.
- All wireway is to be rigidly supported to wall or floor assembly to eliminate movement in firestopped areas. When anchoring wireway to wall or floor, do not use sheet metal screws, but instead anchor with round head bolts on inside of wireway with nuts on outside of wireway, secure cover with screws on each side. Firestop according to UL details.
