Application Delivery Services

  • Review and simplify our application delivery options (Citrix, VCL,, Windows, etc)

Simplify and improve our file services

  • Allow native connection from different platforms
  • Allow same access on campus and off (with vpn)

Expand content management web hosting offerings to external units

  • Offer Drupal, templates and training to colleges and departments (at a competitive cost)

Expand Identity Management to include:

  • Unified directory as source for all subservient directories (LDAP, Shibboleth, Kerberos, Active Directory, Netware, etc)
  • Implement single sign on to services
  • Expand role based authentication to allow intranets and proscribed access by group in all environments

Improve student e-mail and storage services

  • Consider all options including outsourcing
  • Lifetime accounts

Improve managed desktop options to reduce redundant and unnecessary support efforts.

  • Expand imaging solution to benefit more customers

Improve communications with customers|

  • Expand Drupal use to have a website for each project, meeting notices, meeting notes, documents, etc
  • Put information and costing structures for all services on the web
  • Website with tools and techniques for faculty and staff (e.g. http://www.citt.ufl.edu/toolbox/ )

Improve help services with inquiry to solution process

  • Database of who responds to what type of problem (and which level)
  • Include colleges and other IT units
  • Expand access of knowledgebase availability to customers

Improve software licensing access for campus

  • Campus site license for Microsoft Office
  • Central website with download availability for all allowed programs
