The Student E-mail Initiative has a structure intended to facilitate the work of each phase of the project:

• Phase one - Investigation and evaluation: This phase is now complete. Led by co-chairs Stan North Martin and  Sarah Noell, members of the Student Email Task Force included student, faculty and other campus stakeholders.  The Task Forced formed task-oriented working teams. These included Benchmarking of Other Institutions; Stakeholder Feedback; and Product Reviews teams.  In addition, the Task Force worked to create an open and transparent process, with particular empasis on including students' input.
• Phase two -Implementation and transition planning: An  Implementation Steering Team has been planning the transition and serveral working groups have also been created. Work is in progress.
• Phase three - Service roll-out: The Google Apps @ NC State service team will be annouced following the successful completion of the contract agreements with Google Inc.
