Upcoming OIT workshops include:

  • Create, Collaborate & Get Organized with Google Drive will be offered on Thursday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Thursday, April 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Google Drive is the backbone of your Google experience, combining storage, access, sharing, and collaboration with the power of Google Apps. During this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use Drive to manage your resources in a collaborative environment. Primary topics will include organizing files and folders, securing documents through file sharing permissions, group editing and collaboration, and common tools throughout Google Apps.   • Using NC State’s Website Accessibility Scanner will be offered on Tuesday, March 28 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center.   • WordPress Security will be offered on Wednesday, March 29 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Room 106 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center.   • Google Sheets will be offered on Thursday, March 30 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Join us for this two-hour overview of Sheets and learn how it integrates with other apps in Google Drive.   • Gmail: More than your Inbox will be offered Tuesday, April 4 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. There is more to Gmail than just composing, replying to and forwarding messages. This workshop will provide an in-depth overview of Gmail features, including an emphasis on labels and search tools, contacts management, chat, tasks, settings, labs, and new features.   • Introduction to the NEW Google Sites will be offered on Thursday, April 6 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Explore Google Site’s new user-friendly interface with drag and drop functionality and learn how to build a new site, incorporating themes, Google Drive folders and files, media, permissions, and more!   • OIT Co-Working – Progressive Enhancement will be offered on Friday, April 7 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 106 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Progressive Enhancement techniques can help you develop more accessible Web applications iteratively.   • Google Slides: Create, Collaborate and Publish Presentations will be offered on Tuesday, April 11 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center.   • Google Calendar will be offered on Wednesday, April 12 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This workshop will focus on calendar sections (e.g., my calendar, other calendars, mini calendar), event details and calendar management. Specific features will include event attachments, maps and directions, sharing and embedding calendars, labs, quick add, search options, mobile notifications, and Hangouts (video conferencing).   • Tripwire Training for Admins of PCI Systems will be offered on Thursday, April 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 106 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This training is for system administrators who will install and monitor Tripwire for Payment Card Industry (PCI) projects and systems.  Attendees will learn advanced topics related to bulk promotion, ongoing machine approval, and custom rule writing, along with a brief overview of the interface, configuration basics, monitoring, and reporting.   • Basics of WordPress will be offered on Tuesday, April 18 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Learn everything you need to know to get started using WordPress here at NC State, including setup, configuration, themes, plug-ins, settings, options, and management of WordPress.   • Google Forms: Data Collection and Analysis will be offered Wednesday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Easily build surveys, plan events and gather data with Google Forms. This workshop will cover the basics of creating forms, collaborative editing, and viewing data in spreadsheets and charts.   • Using ServiceNow will be offered Wednesday, April 19 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This course will introduce you to the ServiceNow Service Management suite of applications and help you to understand the functional uses of ServiceNow and how it can be integrated into your workflow.
