  • Gmail Level 2: Advanced Productivity will be offered on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Building on Gmail: More Than Your Inbox, this advanced hands-on workshop takes Gmail to the next level. You will learn more about labels, filters, canned responses, scheduling Google Calendar Events, Hangouts, and using Google Drive through Gmail along with any planned or newly released features.   • iOS Mobile Device Security will be offered on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 3285 of the Talley Student Union. As part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, OIT invites you to bring your iOS device to this mobile device security presentation. At their core, Apple mobile devices are generally designed with the best security available, but there are simple security measures you must enable to protect your personal and valuable data. OIT’s Apple Support Specialist Everette Allen will show you how to use a screen lock passcode, encrypt and back up your data, locate your device if it’s lost, and much more.   • Cisco Jabber: Your All-In-One Collaboration Tool! will be offered on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and Nov. 12 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This Lunch & Learn will provide an overview of how Cisco Jabber streamlines communications and enhances productivity by unifying presence, instant messaging, voice, video, voice messaging, screen sharing, and conferencing capabilities securely in one client on your desktop and mobile device.   • Basics of WordPress will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Learn everything you need to know to get started using WordPress at NC State.   • Google Calendar: Advanced Productivity will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 17 and Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This workshop will focus on the calendar interface, event details and calendar management.   • Google Slides: Create, Collaborate and Publish Presentations will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. In this workshop, you will learn how to create presentations using Google Slides. You also will learn about editing, sharing and collaboration, themes, transitions, animations, and more.   • Intermediate WordPress: Content Management will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to noon online via Zoom. In this workshop, OIT Design and Web Services will show you how to develop effective information architecture, determine good content from bad content and ensure your website is accessible to all users.   • Android Mobile Device Security will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 3285 of the Talley Student Union. As part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, OIT invites you to bring your Android device to this mobile device security presentation. Do you know if your Android is really secure?   • Cisco WebEx will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This Lunch & Learn event will provide an overview of how Cisco WebEx Online Meetings enables you to virtually meet, share content and video conference with anyone in the world with an internet connection, including mobile users.   • Google Drive: Create, Collaborate & Get Organized will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. During this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use Drive to manage your resources in a collaborative environment. Primary topics will include organizing files and folders, securing documents through file sharing permissions, group editing and collaboration, and common tools throughout Google’s suite of apps.   • Easy Captioning with G Suite Tools will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 24 from noon to 1 p.m. online via Zoom. In this session, you’ll hear about the importance of captioning, see a demo of the new live caption tools in Google Meet and Slides and watch how to generate and export caption files from YouTube and Google’s Live Transcribe app. To register, visit REPORTER.
  • Jamf Pro Best Practices for Packagers will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 106 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Learn best practices on how to use Jamf Pro to configure OS X devices and install software.   • Report2Web Training will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This course is intended for new and current users of Report2Web, a web-based enterprise report distribution, archival and retrieval solution that allows you to access critical business documents via a web browser.   • What’s new with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1)? will be offered on Friday, Oct. 25 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 106 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines have been recently updated from 2.0 to 2.1. Learn about the additional 17 success criteria that have been added and how by meeting them, you are making your pages more accessible for people with low vision and cognitive and learning disabilities as well as more accessible on mobile devices.   • WordPress Security will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. online via Zoom. Join OIT Web Services staff for this intermediate presentation on the security vulnerabilities of WordPress environments.   • Origin Stories: Rise of the Cyber Pack will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Coastal Ballroom of Talley Student Union as part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month. During this storytelling event, attendees will find out how ordinary individuals have joined the forces of good against cybercriminals and became cyber heroes in their own right. Leading security experts from around the Triangle will tell you what ignited their career path, how they are fighting the good fight against the latest cybersecurity threats, and how you can do the same.   • Gmail Level 1: More Than Your Inbox will be offered on Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. There is more to Gmail than just composing, replying to and forwarding messages. This workshop will provide an in-depth overview of Gmail features, including an emphasis on labels and search tools, contacts management, chat, tasks, settings, labs, and new features.   • Introduction to Hangouts Meet & Chat will be offered on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology. Get to know Google’s newest tools for video conferencing, communication and collaboration. Hangouts Meet provides a user-friendly video conferencing experience while Chat replaces Google’s text-based messenger. Both provide a streamlined way to connect with people on campus or around the globe. Learn how to navigate the new interfaces, start or join a Meet video call, add sessions to calendar appointments, and create Chat Rooms.   • New Automated Web Accessibility Checker – Dinolytics will be offered on Friday, Nov. 8 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 106 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Based on the WAVE testing tool, Dinolytics checks websites for accessibility barriers and provides information on their locations and how to fix them. It also provides progress reporting.   • Google Forms will be offered on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This course will cover the basics of creating forms, collaborative editing, and viewing data in spreadsheets and charts.   • Introduction to DaVinci Resolve will be offered on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Room 2113 of D. H. Hill Library. If you are interested in learning more about video editing using Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve, this 90-minute class will include an overview of Resolve with a focus on how to import, composite, edit, and export files.   • System Access Request Training (SAR) is now offered online. This training will provide an overview of the SAR application for campus requesters and approvers and will demonstrate how to submit a SAR request for different connected systems.
