NC State Web Accessibility Challenge is back on

Step up to the NC State Web Accessibility Challenge Monday, June 29 to Friday, July 24 to make your website more accessible and inclusive.

The NC State IT Accessibility Office initially postponed the three-week challenge due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The challenge is held annually in May in celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD).

The Web Accessibility Challenge encourages campus website owners and designers to make accessibility improvements to their websites and amplifies GAAD’s mission to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about digital access, inclusion and people with different disabilities.

Campus websites that improve their overall accessibility errors by the greatest percentage will be recognized.

All North Carolina colleges and universities are invited to participate in the challenge for the first time this year. To participate, complete the 2020 NC State Web Accessibility Challenge Form by Monday, June 22. You will be sent an initial accessibility report of your website and instructions for the challenge.

Challenge winners will be announced on Friday, Aug. 7 on the NC State Web Accessibility Challenge website.

If you have any questions, contact the NC State IT Accessibility Office at accessibility@ncsu.edu or 919.513.4087.
