New echo, effects settings in Google Meet

Do you hear an echo in your Google Meet video call? Help is now available.

Meet can typically control the audio to prevent echoing, but sometimes your device will still cause a notable echo. In these instances, Google will notify you via a red dot on the “more options” button with a text notification directing you to visit the Google Help Center. There, you will receive recommendations to remove the noise.

A new settings panel is also coming to Meet later this month.

The panel will provide quick access to effects including background blur, background images and filters.  You can access these features during a Meet or before joining a call in the green room.
