IT Community Event is Nov. 2-11

Mark your calendar so you won’t miss the 2021 IT Community Event. This event is open to members of NC State’s IT community and will run Nov. 2-11.

Opening Session

Chancellor Randy Woodson will kick off the opening session in-person on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. in the Talley Student Union’s Mountain/Piedmont Ballroom. The session will also include the announcement of the IT Community Awards nominees and recipients, and the opportunity to provide input to update the university IT strategic plan. This opening session will also be live streamed via Zoom.

Virtual Sessions

From Nov. 3-11, members of the IT campus community will present 16 online workshops and discussions on topics ranging from technical considerations for onboarding and offboarding employees to ongoing work in a hybrid environment.

The Evolution of Google Workspace

NC State has been using Google Workspace for more than 10 years, when it was originally called Google Apps for Education. To commemorate this milestone, on Nov. 11, the entire campus community is invited to attend a featured session led by Google engineer Ken Matthews on the past, present and future of Google Workspace in higher education. This special session will be held at 2 p.m. online. There will be time for questions and answers as well as Google door prizes in this closing session.
