Save the date! State Chief Risk Officer Rob Main will be the keynote speaker for NC State’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month program on Friday, Oct. 21 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.  

In his current role, Main supports the North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) secretary in providing leadership to develop, deliver and maintain cybersecurity programs that safeguard North Carolina’s information and supporting infrastructure against unauthorized use, disclosure, modification, damage or loss. The NCDIT’s state security operations center processes nearly 14 billion cyber incidents per week. 

During his presentation, “Back to Our Future: Where We’re Going, We Don’t Need Roads,” Main will discuss North Carolina’s threat landscape, shedding light on timely legislation and priorities to strengthen the whole-of-state approach to cybersecurity.

With more than 32 years of IT experience, Main previously served as chief information officer for the North Carolina Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, North Carolina Office of State Human Resources and North Carolina Department of Insurance. Additionally, he served 25 years in the military with the U.S. Air Force as a communications and computer systems programmer and in the North Carolina Air National Guard as a logistics readiness officer.
