Update on Google storage changes

The Google Service Team (GST) continues to monitor NC State’s storage usage as a result of Google’s recent policy changes. The GST will share additional information as it becomes available this spring. 

In the meantime, the campus Storage Working Group is finalizing its work to collect storage use cases and current storage options and will share them with the Strategic Task Force. Recommendations will be provided to campus leadership on March 1.

The GST continues to encourage users to:

• Remove any personal data from their NC State Google Workspace accounts.
• Become familiar with the IT Reporting Tool to learn more about their Google space and usage.
  Note: If you are off campus, you will have to use the NC State Virtual Private Network to access this tool.
• Search the NC State IT Service Portal Knowledge Base to learn more about Google and storage.
