ComTech offers telephony and video conferencing solutions

Many university employees work from non-traditional or shared spaces but need access to their campus phone or video conferencing tools. Communication Technologies, a unit within the Office of Information Technology, offers a variety of mobility solutions to accommodate a department’s needs; they include:

Telephony

  • Cisco Jabber
Make and receive campus calls via your PC, Mac or mobile device, manage your campus voicemail or control your campus desk phone. The service is free for faculty/staff with a campus telephone number.
  • Single Number Reach
Set one or more alternate numbers (e.g., cell, home, any phone number you choose) to ring simultaneously when a call comes into your campus desk phone. The service is free for faculty/staff with a campus telephone number.
  • Extension Mobility
Log in to another campus desk phone and temporarily access your phone line, services and speed dial features. Multiple employees can use a single phone and access their campus phone line without affecting settings on other user accounts. This feature benefits individuals who work in different offices or shared workspaces that require access to their primary phone line from any university desk phone. The service is free for faculty/staff with a campus telephone number.

Video Conferencing

Cloud Webex
Host meetings, events or webinars via video conferencing or provide training and real-time support. The Cloud Webex account costs $60 annually and includes access to all four Webex platforms: Meetings, Events, Training and Support. Meetings and Training have a 1,000-participant limit per platform. The Events platform has a 3,000-participant limit.
