Use Unity credentials, Duo to access student data in Campus Directory

Effective Monday, Aug. 12, NC State will require campus users to log in with their Unity credentials and Duo two-factor authentication to access student information in the online Campus Directory

These new requirements are a direct response to the NC State Student Government Resolution 48, which strongly supports these efforts to safeguard student privacy and data from increasing phishing attacks and account compromises.

Starting Aug. 12, to view student directory data:

  • Visit the Campus Directory
  • Click the log in link at the top of the page to access the Shibboleth Login Services web page.
  • Enter your Unity ID and password
  • Complete a Duo login process

Why this change is important
Shibboleth authentication restricts access to protected student data to approved users. Duo’s two-step login process further protects university web applications and thwarts up to 98% of all phishing attacks.

Please note that directory listings for university employees and departments will remain public and accessible via the Campus Directory web page.
