Federal Grants: A New Funding Option for Research Storage

Mikalina Fisher runs an experiment as part of the Biotechnology Program Summer Undergraduate Research Experience.

Federal grants can now be used to purchase Research Storage.

This data storage solution, managed by the Office of Information Technology, is available to all faculty and for all active projects in the Research Enterprise Data system.

Each Research Storage allocation receives an initial 2 terabytes (TB) of storage space, which can be increased to 30 TB at no cost on a case-by-case basis.

Additional storage space is available for purchase with the new option of using federal grants to cover the cost. Log in to Research Storage Purchase Options for annual rates.

In addition to Research Storage, a review is underway for purchasing Google Shared Drive space using grant funds.
