Google has renamed NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook. While Gemini Notebook continues to be a standalone app, the new name reflects closer branding and integration with the Google ecosystem.

What’s Changing

• Within the next two weeks: The name and logo will update for the university community.
• In the next few weeks: Google AI Pro users will be able to write and execute code in Gemini Notebook for more complex data analysis and additional output formats.

Facts About Gemini Notebook

• Gemini Notebook is an AI-powered tool with a broad range of uses — from research to summarization to editing.
• It only pulls from the sources you give it. You can sync Google Drive content, upload files, paste in text, or even add websites and YouTube videos.
• Using your sources, it can create summaries, audio or video overviews, mind maps and more.

Gemini Notebook is available for students, faculty and full-time staff. To use the tool, log in to Gemini Notebook with your NC State account. Using your NC State account will ensure your data stays protected.
