The Office of Information Technology’s Project Management Lite (PML) Internship Program has achieved a milestone as a Packways Recognized High-Impact Experience (HIE). 

Packways is a universitywide initiative focused on expanding student participation in HIEs. By embedding structured reflection directly into practical work, Packways helps students learn to “notice, name and narrate” the real-world value of their learning — equipping them to confidently articulate their professional development to future employers.

Advancing Experiential Learning

The inclusion of the PML internship as an official HIE program recognizes the exceptional mentorship and hands-on guidance provided to student interns. By directly aligning with the Wolfpack 2030 strategic goals, the program bridges the gap between academic study and career readiness through three key focus areas:

• Immersive Project Work: Interns manage real-world IT project tasks, gaining practical project management competencies in a live operational environment.
• Structured Reflection: Students routinely evaluate their experiences, translating day-to-day work into tangible skill sets.
• Narrative Mastery: Interns develop the ability to market their technical abilities, soft skills and leadership growth effectively to recruiters.
