Sept. 10 — Facilities Enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at NC State

- Rau has spent more than 10 years as the director of Facilities Information Systems in the Facilities Division. She leads a team dedicated to maintaining comprehensive data on the university’s physical campus, including floor plans, maps, project documentation, and building and room information. Prior to joining NC State, she worked for a general contractor and the design and construction department of the Wake County Public School System. She is a graduate of NC State’s College of Sciences and enjoys continuing to learn about the university’s diverse projects.
- Krynock is the GIS administrator within the Facilities Information Systems in the Facilities Division. She and her team develop, maintain and share geospatial data and maps to inform and support Facilities and the campus community. She worked previously as a water resources engineer for a private consulting firm. With a growing interest in GIS, Krynock received a master’s degree in geospatial information science and technology at NC State in 2020 and began in her current role shortly after. She loves working at NC State and all of the exciting opportunities that arise to share information and problem-solve using GIS.
Oct. 23 — Emergency Preparedness and Strategic Initiatives at NC State

Orders is the senior director of Emergency Preparedness and Strategic Initiatives (EP&SI), with service teams that support campus operations during unplanned events and crises. In partnership with the Office of Information Technology, EP&SI facilitates planning on the unit and department level for resiliency thinking and preparedness. Since campus is highly dependent on a robust IT infrastructure for its mission, having a solid action plan is essential.
