Gemini Chatbot Available to NC State
Gemini, Google’s generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, is now available to NC State students, faculty and staff.
Generative AI is a powerful tool that can help springboard your ideas into life. By inputting prompts, Gemini can give you a starting point for drafting emails, creating presentation outlines, writing code and more.
How to Access Gemini
To use Gemini, visit gemini.google.com and log in with your NC State account. This version of Gemini is available at no cost to students, faculty and staff using your NC State account. Due to licensing, it is not available to unpaid appointments, retirees or generic accounts.
This version of Gemini is not integrated with other Google Workspace apps, such as Gmail, Docs or Sheets, or extensions.
Data Protection
Gemini has added data protection. To ensure your data is protected, you must log in with your NC State account. Using your NC State account, Gemini will not use or review your data to train its AI models. This tool is approved for green (not sensitive) and yellow (moderately sensitive) data only as defined by the Data Management Framework.
Paid Licenses
Paid licenses, which include Google Workspace integrations and additional features, are available for purchase. To purchase a license, visit software.ncsu.edu.
