Coming Soon: Changes to Google Calendar Resource Bookings

Starting Aug. 4, the default visibility settings for bookable resources in Google Calendar will change. Bookable resources include meeting rooms and pieces of equipment.

The default visibility setting will change from users with View all event details permissions to those with See only free/busy (hide details) — allowing these users to book a resource in Google Calendar. Existing permissions will not be affected.

This change will enable more broad access for users while keeping meeting details private.

For more granular control, consider designating resource managers who have additional access to accept or decline reservations for identified resources.
