Configuration Management Systems at NC State
The RUL 08.00.18 – Endpoint Protection Standard (EPS) prescribes minimum requirements for every device, computer, and information system connected to the NC State network including university-owned and personally owned devices. These minimum requirements factor in device ownership, sensitive data access, and sensitive data storage. The standard specifies that all university-owned devices, computers, and information systems must be managed by a CMS (Configuration Management System) if one is available. Currently, macOS and Windows have approved CMSs. Linux will have approved CMSs in the near future.
