This is the manual installation page for the NCSU VPN client software. This page is intended for those who wish to install the VPN software manually because the automated process failed.
If you’ve reached this page in error, you can reach the main VPN install page at this link which describes how to install on a variety of platforms.
If for any reason the Java installer does not work or provides an error, proceed with downloading the file directly and installing the client yourself. After you have installed your client, enter “vpn.ncsu.edu” in the “Connect to:” field of the AnyConnect client.

|Windows 10||Version 3.1.14018||After downloading the file, simply double click on it to install the Cisco AnyConnect software. You may then proceed to Step 7 of the Windows installation instructions.|
|Windows 8 and 8.1
|Version 3.1.14018||Upgrading to Windows 8.1 requires you to uninstall AnyConnect, and reinstall it after your Windows upgrade is complete.
After downloading the file, simply double click on it to install the Cisco AnyConnect software. You may then proceed to Step 7 of the Windows installation instructions.
|Mac OS X
(Intel 32 and 64 bit)

AnyConnect release 3.1 is a signed application, but it is not signed using an Apple/Mac Store certificate. You may need to change your Gatekeeper settings as described here.
|Linux 64 bit||Version 3.1.10010 for 64-bit||After downloading the file, untar the gzip’d tar file (as root).This will create a directory called ciscovpn. Go to this directory and enter: sudo sh ./vpn_install.sh
The program should now be accessible by finding the Cisco Anyconnect Client icon in your OS specific menu.
