OIT general storage infrastructure consists of multiple devices and technical capabilities. In the categories below are the model, connectivity speed, Data-at-rest encryption status, age of the device, and targeted lifecycle replacement date.

Block storage

  • Connectivity: SAN – fiber channel attached
  • Primary service: OIT Hypervisor and physical server
  • 2 arrays – 1 per Data Center
  • Capacity: 300-400TB per Data Center
  • Disk: hdd and flash pools(ssd)
  • Storage Tiers: Block_Capacity, Standard, Performance limited with flash pool
  • Scheduled decommission: Summer 2020
  • DE@R: keep drives (not licensed for encryption)

DellEMC Unity600

  • Connectivity: SAN fiber channel attached and 10G ethernet
  • Primary purpose: Hypervisors and physical servers, NAS
  • 2 arrays – 1 per Data Center
  • Capacity: ~ 260TB per Data Center
  • Disk: hdd and flash pools(ssd)
  • Storage Tiers: Block-Capacity, NAS
  • Scheduled refresh: 2021
  • DE@R: yes, encryption enabled at controller level

DellEMC XtremIO – 2 bricks cluster

  • Connectivity: SAN – fiber channel attached
  • Primary purpose: Hypervisor and legacy oracle database hardware
  • 2 arrays – 1 per Data Center
  • Capacity: raw 16TB, usable 60TB per Data Center
  • Disk: All Flash Array
  • Storage Tiers: Block-Performance (High IO)
  • Scheduled refresh/replace: 2021

DellEMC Unity650F (All flash)

  • Connectivity: SAN attached, 10G ethernet
  • Primary purpose: Hypervisors for traditional VM clusters
  • 2 arrays – 1 per Data Center

  • Storage Tiers: Block-Standard, Block-Performance (High IO)
