Foster world-leading technological innovation to support teaching and learning, research and outreach.
SCALE-UP, the Virtual Computing Lab (VCL) and the James B. Hunt Jr. Library are just a few of the recent areas where NC State has led in innovation. What is next on the horizon? Technology, appropriately and creatively applied, will enable NC State to support research innovation, advance student success, improve university operations and help address the grand challenges of society.

Partner IT staff with university stakeholders, subject-matter experts and industry to foster new and innovative IT tools, providing opportunities and unique capacities for education and research.
1.2 Create spaces and processes that inspire innovation.
Create novel IT spaces and testbeds where people can experiment with research and educational innovations without disrupting production systems. Create support mechanisms to encourage innovative and incremental IT solutions.
1.3 Encourage dissemination of IT innovations.
Align campus policies, processes and tech-transfer support to facilitate dissemination and potential commercialization of IT innovations. Use change-management processes to diffuse innovation to the campus community and beyond.
