    • Wireless service is being gradually introduced to the residential areas of campus. If wireless isn’t available in your room, you can bring your own wireless router. For the latest information on which residence halls have wireless, please check out Wireless 2016.
  • What kind of computer do I need to connect to ResNet?
    • Almost any modern computer running a current operating system can connect to ResNet. Computers running Windows XP are not supported and may not connect to ResNet.
  • Who can connect to ResNet?
    • All students living in University Housing residence halls and apartments and Greek Village chapter houses can connect to ResNet.
  • What does ResNet provide?
    • ResNet provides network service and to all students in University Housing residence halls and apartments and Greek Village chapter houses.
  • What does ResNet cost?

  • How do I get ResNet?
    • If you are living in an on-campus residence hall, apartment, or Greek Village you are already subscribed to ResNet.
  • How do I connect?
  • Can I run a server from my network connection?
    • Yes, you can run servers in your room provided that you follow university rules. Please note that ResNet does not provide a static IP address and you cannot register an outside domain name to point at a computer connected to the NC State network.
