What is WolfPrint?

WolfPrint is an accounted printing service available to anyone with valid Unity ID and an active AllCampus Account.  Find asnwers to frequently asked questions below or contact us by submitting the WolfPrint Report A Problem form.

Where are the WolfPrint printers located?

WolfPrint printers are conveniently located across campus in Unity labs, several residence halls, the libraries, and many colleges.  The WolfPrint FollowMe print queues are deployed on most managed workstations in computer labs, and can also be used with WebPrint and Google Cloud Print for mobile printing.  For a complete list of printers and their locations, visit go.ncsu.edu/printers.

Do the printers support duplex?

Each Lexmark printer supports automatic duplex (double-sided printing).  If you are printing from a lab machine, choose the duplex option in the print driver.  If you are printing from a mobile device, use Google Cloud Print and choose the duplex option after selecting the WolfPrint FollowMe printer.  WebPrint service does NOT support duplex.

How much does it cost to print?

  • FollowMe Printing Letter Size
    •  WolfPrint-BlackandWhite printers charge $0.10 per page.
    •  Wolfprint-Color printers charge $0.25 per page.
    • Two-sided prints are charged as two pages.
  • FollowMe Printing Tabloid Size
    • WolfPrint-BlackandWhite-11×17 printers charge $0.20 per page.
    • WolfPrint-Color-11×17 printers charge $0.50 per page.
    • Two-sided prints are charged as two page

What do the fees pay for?

The printing fees pay part of the cost for consumables, maintenance, and support staff needed to run the WolfPrint service.

  • WolfCopy provides support for the physical equipment, including consumables and repairs.
  • OIT provides the print systems and technical support needed to maintain service quality.
  • Support staff provide assistance during regular working hours, Monday through Friday.

How do I pay for it?

  • STUDENTS use their AllCampus Account.  Make a Deposit online, in person, or by mail with cash or check.
  • FACULTY/STAFF pay for printing with WolfPrint using a Payroll Deduction.
  • DEPARTMENTS can provide funds for printing to Students or Faculty/Staff by using a WolfPrint Shared Account.

How does PaperCut charge me?

  • WolfPrint uses PaperCut MF for its accounted printing solution.
  • It works by authenticating the user, intercepting the print job, and extracting the job and page count information.
  • PaperCut calculates the cost, validates the page count and deducts the charges automatically from the user’s AllCampus Account.

What if I don’t have any money and I still need to print?

In order to print, you must have at least one of the following:

  • Money in your AllCampus Account
  • PaperCut Print Credit

What is PaperCut print credit?

  • PaperCut Print Credit is for printing only!
  • Print Credit is generated when a print job is refunded in the PaperCut System.

Why is my All Campus balance wrong?

  • If you try to add funds to your AllCampus Debit Account and receive a status “INACTIVE” message, your WolfPack One card has expired.
  • If you are a registered student, there is no fee for replacing your card.  You must have an ACTIVE account to print!
  • If you think you have money in your AllCampus Account, but WolfPrint does not, your card may have been reported Lost/Stolen.
  • Contact the WolfPack One Card office for assistance with either of these issues.

Can I print using my laptop and mobile devices?

Yes!  You can use Google Cloud Print or WebPrint to print from a mobile device to the with the WolfPrint FollowMe printers.

Can I print from off campus?

Yes!  But first you must establish a secure connection to the campus network using NC State’s Virtual Private Networking (VPN) Service.

If my print job fails or doesn’t look good, can I get a refund?

Yes, WolfPrint will refund your print credit if your print job fails or has a poor print quality.  To request a refund, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the WolfPrint login page for PaperCut.
  2. Enter your Unity ID and password.
  3. On the left menu, click on the Recent Print Jobs link.
  4. In the status column for the print job you want refunded, click on the [request refund] link.
  5. Fill out the form provided.
  6. Click Send.
    An administrator will respond to your request.

I am a faculty/staff member.  How do I request a Shared Account to fund student accounted printing?

Shared accounts are available for departmental use only.  To request a a Shared Account or to modify an existing shared account, submit a Departmental Funding Request for Students.
