NC State’s computer resources are owned by the university and are provided primarily to support its academic and administrative functions.
The use of these resources is governed by federal and state law as well as university policies and procedures.

Configuration Management Systems at NC State

The RUL 08.00.18 – Endpoint Protection Standard (EPS) prescribes minimum requirements for every device, computer, and information system connected to the NC State network including university-owned and personally owned devices.  These minimum requirements factor in device ownership, sensitive data access, and sensitive data storage.  The standard specifies that all university-owned devices, computers, and information systems must be managed by a CMS (Configuration Management System) if one is available. Currently, macOS and Windows have approved CMSs. Linux will have approved CMSs in the near future.
