Entra ID Migration

NC State is transitioning to Microsoft Entra ID as its new single sign-on (SSO) solution. The university has used Shibboleth as its primary SSO solution for 18 years, giving campus a streamlined way to sign in to multiple university resources. Switching to Entra ID helps the university consolidate SSO to one industry-standard platform that streamlines identity management with modern security standards and robust integration possibilities.

Timeline

  • Gradual migration for small applications.
  • Large campuswide applications (ex: Google, MyPack Portal) will migrate fall 2026.
  • Most applications will migrate by the end of 2026.
