Background to OIT Structure

Background: ITD & RMIS form new Office of Information Technology
On November 1, 2007, NC State’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) brought together into one organization the staff, operations, and responsibilities of Resource Management and Information Systems (RMIS) and the Information Technology Division (ITD). The formation of the OIT was a  major step in NC State’s initiative to reorganize NC State’s IT operations under the leadership of a Chief Information Officer (CIO). Chancellor Oblinger has created a new Vice Chancellor for Information Technology (VCIT) position as part of this initiative. Until the VCIT is on board, the OIT will be led jointly by Associate Vice Chancellor Steve Keto and Vice Provost Sam Averitt.
