More than 1100 people attended OIT’s first IT Expo, held on October 9, 2008 in the Talley Student Center on campus.
In his keynote address, “IT Doesn’t Matter. Creative IT Does” (pdf), Dr. Marc Hoit, vice chancellor of information technology and chief information officer, articulated his progressive IT strategy for NC State to an audience of about 400 in Stewart Theater. Throughout the day, expo attendees took advantage of breakout learning sessions, OIT services booths, and campus partner exhibits and vendor product information and demonstrations.
“A huge thanks to everyone for all of the work leading up to today’s very successful OIT Expo,” said Stan North Martin, director of OIT Outreach, Communications and Consulting after the event. “Thanks everyone for helping many in our campus community . . . see the new OIT!”
