OIT Awards for Excellence deadline extended to March 11

The deadline for the 2010 Office of Information Technology/University Awards for Excellence has been extended to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 11. Established in 1996, the University Awards for Excellence program recognizes the accomplishments and achievements of employees who contribute to the university’s success, and demonstrates its appreciation and gratitude.

The OIT had an award added in its department last year recognizing a non-faculty EPA employee. This brings OIT’s department-level awards to three, two SPA and one EPA. Therefore, both SPA and EPA employees are now nominated for the awards. Any permanent SPA employee or non-faculty EPA employee can be nominated. All campus employees – individuals or groups – may submit nominations; however, nominees must be individuals. Nominations of groups cannot be accepted.

The top two SPA and the top one EPA nominees will be awarded a $250 check and eight hours of paid time-off. Award recipients within OIT will via for the University-wide Awards for Excellence and be eligible for another $250 check and an additional eight hours of paid time off if chosen as a university-wide winner.

The OIT will recognize all nominees during an awards reception from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Monday, April 12 in the Walnut Room of the Talley Student Center.

Please submit completed nomination forms, along with the written recommendations, electronically to Kim McAllister, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology, at kim_mcallister@ncsu.edu. Please provide detailed examples of your nominee’s exceptional efforts and contributions, particularly as they relate to a specific selection criteria on the nomination form. Recommendations must be limited to two pages.
