Have you noticed the new RSVP options for Google Calendar invitations? You can use them to indicate if you plan to attend a meeting virtually or in person.
Google made the change to help organizations offer hybrid work models to accommodate rotating employee schedules.
To locate the new options from the Calendar interface:
- Click on a meeting invitation block.
- At the bottom of the details window, click the drop-down arrow next to “Yes.”
- Choose from one of these options:
- Yes.
- Yes, in a meeting room.
- Yes, joining virtually.
Initially, these RSVP options will be available only in the Calendar interface; later this year, they will be available in Gmail invitations. These options will not be available to invited guests using other platforms such as Microsoft Outlook.
