Configuration Management -Jamf Pro production is currently 10.31.1, test on nccloudtest is 10.32.1, and there is no current beta. Date for the production update to 10.32.1 is Sep 22, 2021 depending on final testing. Jamf Pro is the only approved Configuration Management system for macOS, iOS/iPadOS, and tvOS. Patch Definition Management –
A custom patch server is now available as part of Jamf Pro at no extra cost. The patch server is enabled on both test and production servers but no custom patches have been created.
Backup for Endpoints – No changeThe Code42 production service is at version 8.7.1 Existing clients are automatically updated from the cloud server. For NEW installs only the package in JAMF is “NCSU-Campus-Install Code42-870.pkg”. The “NCSU-Campus-Install Code42CrashPlan License and Config.pkg” is required in the policy as before for new installs.

Apple Silicon devices running macOS are more like iPads now and have several recovery options including:

System Recovery – Will boot automatically if macOS Recovery is unavailable
macOS Big Sur USB Installer Drive – External boot for macOS Installers is enabled by default on ASi
Apple Configurator 2 REVIVE – reinstalls macOS Recovery retaining user data on the drive
Apple Configurator 2 RESTORE – reinstalls macOS Recovery, ERASES drive!! and reinstalls macOS
Software Packaging – no change

Apple School Manager – No change. REMINDER Make sure you *unassign* any devices you have sent to surplus.

VPN Update Cisco Secure AnyConnect 4.10 – 5 min
OIT is testing the 4.10 series of Cisco AnyConnect for release in late September 2021. The software is in the Jamf Pro distribution as NCSU-Campus-Cisco_Secure_AnyConnect_4.10.02086.pkg.
So far testing on macOS 10,11, and 12B6 has been positive. Please test and update.

Adobe Quarterly Updates – 15 min
OIT has releasee quarterly updates to all Adobe apps for both intel and arm64(Apple Silicon) The package names will be like “NCSU-Campus-Adobe_<product_name>_2021_Installer-<version.number>.zip. The new autopkg recipes from JamJar also upload an uninstaller but these usually don’t work unless you have only that product installed and want to remove it. Discussion

Jamf Pro Update to 10.32 – 10 min
