AWS Control Tower

AWS Control Tower is a service that is intended for organizations with multiple accounts and teams who are looking for the easiest way to set up their new multi-account AWS environment and govern at scale.  OIT manages a Control Tower organization to help improve AWS tenant security, goals including:

  • Decreasing overall costs as academic discounts are deployed for all organizational tenants and bulk discounts are calculated for the entire organization instead of per tenant.
  • Simplifying identity management by having a single location to deploy Shibboleth SSO and permissioning within the organization.
  • Integration with the Splunk Log Analysis platform for log monitoring and alerting.
  • Provide a single interface for the inclusion of Security and Compliance oversight into campus AWS tenants.
