OIT will offer a two-session course, “Learn to use High Performance Computing (HPC) Resources: NC State Blade Center,” from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, Oct. 8 in ITTC Lab 1-B of D.H. Hill Library.

This six-hour hands-on course will be useful to NC State faculty and students whose research can benefit from using parallel computation. Gary Howell of OIT will lecture on distributed computing using the Message Passing Interface (MPI ) library. Lectures will be followed by “labs,” which consist of running and revising short programs.
