Campus receives erroneous Postini notifications today

Many faculty and staff were sent today (Tuesday, Dec. 18) an erroneous email notifying them that their Postini archiving had been turned off. This email was sent in error due to a data feed issue.

OIT staff have investigated and corrected the issue at this time. At the next scheduled notification time (around 9 a.m.), customers will receive a follow-up message informing them that Postini archving has been turned back on.

At no time during this issue was anyone’s archiving turned off. OIT staff were able to correct the issue before any Postini accounts were turned off. This means no data was lost during this event.
