The Office of Information Technology (OIT) announces the purchase of Kaspersky antivirus products for NC State’s antivirus (AV) protection. Kaspersky will replace Trend Micro and will be available in two versions:

• A personal version, to be installed only on personally-owned devices that will be connecting to NC State’s network, will be available in mid-March 2014 for download from NC State Antivirus Resources.

• A campus version, to be installed only on university-owned devices, is targeted to be available between mid-April and the end of May 2014, after testing is complete. It is important that users of university-owned devices continue using Trend Micro until this version of Kaspersky is available.

  IT staff will be notified when it is available via SysNews, OIT News and other communication methods that target IT staff. Please contact your local IT person for more details.
