Connect to secure Wi-Fi with eduroam

Are you using eduroam? OIT encourages the campus community to use eduroam (education roaming), a free, fully encrypted wireless service developed for the international research and education community. eduroam is the primary, secured wireless service used on campus.

OIT Communication Technologies recently upgraded the service, which is now more reliable and easier to enroll in from on- and off-campus locations. With eduroam, NC State students, employees and guests can use their Unity ID and password to connect securely and seamlessly to the Internet, both on campus and while visiting any participating institution worldwide. Guest credentials are not required.

To enroll your eligible device, visit wifi.ncsu.edu. You’ll need your Unity ID and password to get started.

NCSU and NCSU-Guest Service Set Identifiers (SSID)
The current ncsu SSID, also known as the Nomad wireless network, is unencrypted, so less secure. It remains available for those devices that can’t use the eduroam service.

The ncsu-guest SSID remains available for campus visitors.
