Don’t get phished at NC State

OIT recently reported a surge in phishing scams including fraudulent employment offers and IRS and financial aid scams.

Especially during this tax season, when phishing scams are rampant, you should look out for suspicious emails of all nature that try to trick you into divulging your personally identifiable information such as your name, social security number, date and place of birth, address, phone number, age, and gender.

OIT is sponsoring Don’t Get Phished at NC State on Friday, March 16 from noon to 1 p.m. to help you:

  • Identify phishing emails.
  • Understand what steps to take if you receive a phishing email.
  • Learn how to enhance email security.

This one-hour YouTube Live event will be led by Andy Raynor, OIT security specialist. To register, visit REPORTER.
