  • Google Calendar: Advanced Productivity will be offered on Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. If you’re comfortable with the basics of Google Calendar and are ready to use some more of its features, this hands-on workshop is for you. This workshop will focus on the new Calendar interface, event details and Calendar management. Specific features will include event attachments, maps and directions, sharing and embedding calendars, search options, scheduling Hangouts (video conferencing), and more.   • Cisco WebEx will be offered on Wednesday, Sept. 19 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This Lunch & Learn event will provide an overview of how Cisco WebEx Online Meetings enables you to virtually meet, share content and video conference with anyone in the world with an internet connection, including mobile users!   • Intermediate WordPress: Gutenberg for Content Creators will be offered Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 1 p.m to 2 p.m. online via YouTube Live. Gutenberg is the next-generation WordPress post and page editor, replacing the Visual Editor that has been the default editor of WordPress for the last 12 years. In this workshop, attendees will get to know Gutenberg, learn how to build block-based posts and pages and receive helpful tips and tricks in preparation for the official release of Gutenberg.   • Gmail: Advanced Productivity will be offered on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Building on Gmail: More Than Your Inbox, this advanced hands-on workshop takes Gmail to the next level. You will learn more about labels, filters, canned responses, scheduling Google Calendar Events, Hangouts, using Google Drive through Gmail, and any planned or newly released features.   • What’s New in G Suite will be offered on Friday, Sept. 21 from noon to 1 p.m. online via YouTube Live. If you need a refresher of Google’s new features, then join OIT trainers for a quick tour of exciting Google Apps updates that you can use this fall! Learn about the Activity Dashboard, theme updates in Forms, Hangouts Meet, Calendar office hours, Calendar working hours, Sites enhancements, and more!  To register, visit REPORTER. 
  • Google Slides: Create, Collaborate and Publish Presentations will be offered on Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Participants will learn how to create presentations using Google Slides and will focus on editing, sharing and collaboration, themes, transitions, animations, and more! To register, visit REPORTER.  
  • Create, Collaborate & Get Organized with Google Drive will be offered on Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. During this introductory hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use Drive to manage your resources in a collaborative environment. Primary topics will include organizing files and folders, securing documents through file sharing permissions, group editing and collaboration, and common tools throughout Google’s suite of apps.   • Intermediate WordPress will be offered on Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. In this workshop, you will learn about effective information architecture, the difference between good content and bad content and how to ensure your website is accessible to users with disabilities.   • Managing Apple Devices with Jamf Pro will be offered on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Room B3 of the Hillsborough Building. Attendees will learn how to use the Jamf Pro to manage Apple devices running macOS, iOS and tvOS. This workshop will also cover best practices for using the Jamf Pro deployment at NC State.   • Google Sheets will be offered on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This introduction class will focus on several specific features, including formatting options, data validation, basic functions, charts, conditional formatting, and more!   • Gmail: More Than Your Inbox will be offered on Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. There is more to Gmail than just composing, replying to and forwarding messages. This workshop will provide an in-depth overview of Gmail features, including an emphasis on labels and search tools, contacts management, chat, tasks, settings, labs, and new features.   • Cisco Jabber: Your all in one Collaboration Tool! will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 3 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This Lunch and Learn will provide an overview of how Cisco Jabber streamlines communications and enhances productivity by unifying presence, instant messaging, voice, video, voice messaging, screen sharing, and conferencing capabilities securely into one client on your desktop and mobile device.   • Google Docs will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This powerful word processor provides tools to create and format documents while collaborating with others in the cloud. Topics covered in this session include revision history, the explore tool, inserting and editing images, collaboration tools, downloading, importing and publishing to the web, add-ons and extensions, offline access, and more!   • Introduction to Google Sites will be offered on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. The session will cover a range of topics, including: creating and organizing new pages, choosing themes, embedding Google Drive folders and files, adding media, customized and basic Web design principles, publishing, setting permissions, and more.   • WordPress Accessibility Helper Basics will be offered on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This one-hour session will focus on the new NC State Accessibility Helper in WordPress. This tool scans for many accessibility barriers in your WordPress site and provides feedback on how to fix these barriers. To register, visit REPORTER. 
  • Decode Cybersecurity: Triangle Tech Panel will be offered Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Duke Energy Hall of James B. Hunt Library. Hear panelists Laura Bottomley, Dr. William Enck, and Andy Kotynski, all of NC State; Jessica Nye of the FBI; Omar Santos of Cisco Systems; Brian Wilson of SAS; and Kevin Runyan of Ernst & Young explain current and future threats in cybersecurity, best security steps average people can take to protect themselves online, skills new hires should possess to land a successful career in cyber security, career opportunities in cyber security and more. In addition, human resources personnel from each of the five organizations will be available to discuss internships and exciting career opportunities in the cybersecurity industry.   • Report2Web will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Report2Web is a web-based enterprise report distribution, archival and retrieval solution that allows you to access critical business documents using a standard web browser.   • System Access Request Training (SAR) is now offered online. This training will provide an overview of the SAR application for campus requesters and approvers and will demonstrate how to submit a SAR request for different connected systems.
