OIT announces fall IT training classes

Upcoming training sessions include:

  • Report2Web Training will be offered on Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This course is intended for new and current users of Report2Web, a web-based enterprise report distribution, archival and retrieval solution that allows you to access critical business documents via a web browser. This course will show you how to navigate and use Report2Web to find reports for which you have access. Approvers will also learn how to approve reports. To register, visit REPORTER.
  • Cisco Jabber: Your All-In-One Collaboration Tool! will be offered on Wednesday, Aug. 21 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This Lunch & Learn will provide an overview of how Cisco Jabber streamlines communications and enhances productivity by unifying presence, instant messaging, voice, video, voice messaging, screen sharing, and conferencing capabilities securely in one client on your desktop and mobile device.   • Gmail: Advanced Productivity will be offered on Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Building on Gmail: More Than Your Inbox, this advanced hands-on workshop takes Gmail to the next level. You will learn more about labels, filters, canned responses, scheduling Google Calendar Events, Hangouts, and using Google Drive through Gmail along with any planned or newly released features.   • Cisco WebEx will be offered on Wednesday, Aug. 28 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This Lunch & Learn event will provide an overview of how Cisco WebEx Online Meetings enables you to virtually meet, share content and video conference with anyone in the world with an internet connection, including mobile users. This course will specifically cover WolfMeeting, NC State’s WebEx solution. To register, visit REPORTER
  • Google Slides: Advanced Customization will be offered on Wednesday, Aug. 28 from noon to 1 p.m. online via YouTube Live. In this online session, you will learn how to create custom reusable themes to make your presentations look great. You will import PowerPoint and Google Slides themes, make one-click updates to your entire presentation and build slide shows for re-usability. To register, visit REPORTER.
  • Gmail Level 1: More Than Your Inbox will be offered on Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. There is more to Gmail than just composing, replying to and forwarding messages. This workshop will provide an in-depth overview of Gmail features, including an emphasis on labels and search tools, contacts management, chat, tasks, settings, labs, and new features.   • Google Calendar: Advanced Productivity will be offered on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This workshop will focus on the calendar interface, event details and calendar management. Specific features will include event attachments, maps and directions, sharing and embedding calendars, search options, and scheduling Hangouts video conferencing. To register, visit REPORTER.
  • Google Forms will be offered on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This course will cover the basics of creating forms, collaborative editing, and viewing data in spreadsheets and charts. It also will highlight several advanced features such as custom themes, page breaks, question validation, and embedding forms in websites. To register, visit REPORTER.
  • New Automated Web Accessibility Checker – Dinolytics will be offered on Friday, Sept. 13 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 106 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Based on the WAVE testing tool, Dinolytics checks websites for accessibility barriers and provides information on their locations and how to fix them. It also provides progress reporting.   • System Access Request Training (SAR) is now offered online. This training will provide an overview of the SAR application for campus requesters and approvers and will demonstrate how to submit a SAR request for different connected systems.
