  • Google Calendar: Advanced Productivity will be offered on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This workshop will focus on the calendar interface, event details and calendar management. Specific features will include event attachments, maps and directions, sharing and embedding calendars, search options, and scheduling Hangouts video conferencing. To register, visit REPORTER.
  • Logging 101 with Splunk will be offered on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 106 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Matt Portnoy of Splunk will lead a custom “search party” tailored to NC State’s technical and compliance needs. This hands-on workshop will provide an overview and instructions on how to find what you need in Splunk. To register, visit REPORTER
  • Introduction to Google Keep will be offered on Thursday, Sept. 19 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Google Keep makes it easy to organize your notes with color coding, labels and reminders. Join OIT trainers for an introduction to this G Suite core app and explore how to edit and create new notes in Google Docs, pin notes, organize Keep notes, record notes with voice dictation, transcribe text from images, share and collaborate with others, and more.   • Google Drive: Create, Collaborate & Get Organized will be offered on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. During this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use Drive to manage your resources in a collaborative environment. Primary topics will include organizing files and folders, securing documents through file sharing permissions, group editing and collaboration, and common tools throughout Google’s suite of apps.   • Basics of WordPress will be offered on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m online via YouTube Live. Learn everything you need to know to get started using WordPress at NC State. This workshop will cover topics including setup, configuration, themes, plugins, settings, options, and management of WordPress. To register, visit REPORTER.
  • Managing Apple Devices with Jamf Pro will be offered on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Room 331 of the Hillsborough Building. You will learn how to use Jamf Pro to manage Apple devices running macOS, iOS and tvOS. This workshop will also cover best practices for using the Jamf Pro deployment at NC State.   • Cisco WebEx will be offered on Wednesday, Sept. 25 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This Lunch & Learn event will provide an overview of how Cisco WebEx Online Meetings enables you to virtually meet, share content and video conference with anyone in the world with an internet connection, including mobile users.   • Gmail Level 2: Advanced Productivity will be offered on Thursday, Sept. 26 and Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Building on Gmail: More Than Your Inbox, this advanced hands-on workshop takes Gmail to the next level. You will learn more about labels, filters, canned responses, scheduling Google Calendar Events, Hangouts, and using Google Drive through Gmail along with any planned or newly released features.   • Report2Web Training will be offered on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This course is intended for new and current users of Report2Web, a web-based enterprise report distribution, archival and retrieval solution that allows you to access critical business documents via a web browser. This course will show you how to navigate and use Report2Web to find reports for which you have access. Approvers will also learn how to approve reports. To register, visit REPORTER.
  • Gmail Level 1: More Than Your Inbox will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. There is more to Gmail than just composing, replying to and forwarding messages. This workshop will provide an in-depth overview of Gmail features, including an emphasis on labels and search tools, contacts management, chat, tasks, settings, labs, and new features.   • Introduction to Google Sites will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. Explore the new user-friendly interface of Google Sites with drag and drop functionality. You will learn how to build a new site, create and organize new pages; choose themes for color schemes and font styles; embed Google Drive folders and files; add images, videos and URLs; implement customization and basic web design principles; set permissions; and publish and update pages.   • iOS Mobile Device Security will be offered on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 3285 of the Talley Student Union. As part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, OIT invites you to bring your iOS device to this mobile device security presentation. At their core, Apple mobile devices are generally designed with the best security available, but there are simple security measures you must enable to protect your personal and valuable data. OIT’s Apple Support Specialist, Everette Allen, will show you how to use a screen lock passcode, encrypt and back up your data, locate your device if it’s lost, and much more.   • Cisco Jabber: Your All-In-One Collaboration Tool! will be offered on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center. This Lunch & Learn will provide an overview of how Cisco Jabber streamlines communications and enhances productivity by unifying presence, instant messaging, voice, video, voice messaging, screen sharing, and conferencing capabilities securely in one client on your desktop and mobile device.   • System Access Request Training (SAR) is now offered online. This training will provide an overview of the SAR application for campus requesters and approvers and will demonstrate how to submit a SAR request for different connected systems.
