The OIT Project Portfolio Services team provides training, mentoring and project management assistance. For assistance please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We also encourage you to join the OIT PPM Special Interest Group (Google+ community) where you can share personal experience, tools and other resources with your peers to help manage projects more effectively.
OIT PPM Steering Team – This team is responsible for guiding the development of best practices, standards and tools for improving the success of project management at OIT. Each OIT Unit has one or more representatives on the PPM Steering Team.
OIT Project Portfolio Manager (QuickBase) – an online tool developed by the Project Portfolio Management team to track projects in OIT. If yours is a “portfolio” project it should have a record in this system. You are encouraged to also use this tool to track other unit or team projects as desired.
Smartsheet – an online project management tool intended for collaborative use. It includes a Gantt chart area, attachments, discussions, an area for update requests, a tool for web forms, and publishing options.
Microsoft Project – a project management software offered by Microsoft, designed to assist a project manager in developing a plan, assigning resources to tasks, tracking progress, managing the budget, and analyzing workloads.
